NordPass has compiled the 200 weakest passwords from the past year along with the approximate number of users and time it takes to crack. The top ten are below, but the entire list is worth looking over. If you see a password you’re currently using on this list, change it as soon as possible.
You can see that ‘picture1’ was the only password that took a longer time to crack. This is because the rest of the passwords relied on easy repetition or were the word password itself (senha also means password).
So, what can you do?
Our best suggestion is to utilize a password manager. No one is expecting you to remember a list of complex and unique passwords without some help! A password manager will keep each password saved across any device you have on your account. We’ve also previously written about better password security here.
